Honored with the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2022 and named Australian of the Year – Local Hero for Queensland in 2020, Nick's dedication is highlighted by his creation of the Albatross Nippers program, which integrates children with disabilities into surf lifesaving.
His commitment to inclusivity is further evidenced by his Churchill Fellowship in 2020, leading to the development of “Include-ED” at Griffith University, aimed at providing vocational opportunities for individuals with intellectual impairments. As the founder of Surf Life Physio and an active advocate for inclusive sports, his efforts have been recognized with numerous awards.
